The Nameless Lamb

They called the lamb many things.

Never by name.

Easier that way. For them.

When it stumbled, the explanation was already there. When it cried, the reason was already settled.

The day it didn’t answer, someone looked at the space it had left.

Just for a moment. A slight frown.

Then they moved on.


Moral:
Stop naming
and you stop seeing.
An absence without a name
doesn’t weigh.
