
Nobody in the pond raised their voice.
Nobody pointed at anything. Nobody defended anyone.
When something happened, they looked at the water and kept swimming.
The silence became habit. The habit became the way things were. The way things were became invisible.
Some of them remembered it hadn’t always been like this. But saying so would have been the same as shouting.
The water was still.
Nobody asked why.
Moral:
Silence moves the harm forward too.
Especially the silence that knows what it’s holding back.
